Data
Where does the data come from?
Public FMCSA datasets: the carrier census, insurance filings, roadside inspections, crash records and the Safety Measurement System. Data & methodology lists each one.
How current is it?
Census, insurance, inspection and crash data refresh every night. BASIC measures and percentiles follow FMCSA’s monthly SMS release.
Why does a BASIC say "Estimated"?
FMCSA withholds most property-carrier percentiles from public view. For those carriers we rank the carrier’s published SMS measure within its safety event group and label the result as an estimate.
Are you part of FMCSA?
No. Carrier Overpass is an independent company, not affiliated with or endorsed by FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Accounts & pricing
How do I get an account?
Accounts are set up for your organization rather than by self sign-up. Contact us for a walkthrough or a quote; once your organization is set up, each person gets an email invite to choose a password.
How is it priced?
Per seat, with no limit on reports. Starter, Pro and Team cover one, five and ten seats with a 14-day trial; Enterprise is sized to your organization. See pricing.
Can we sign in with Microsoft?
Yes, on Enterprise. Organizations can connect Microsoft Entra ID and require single sign-on for every member.
I forgot my password.
Reset it here. We email a link that works for one hour. If your organization requires Microsoft sign-in, use Continue with Microsoft SSO on the sign-in page instead.
Carriers
My carrier’s record is wrong. Can you fix it?
We can’t edit the federal record, but you can correct it with FMCSA, and the change reaches us on the next refresh. Here is how.
Can I have my carrier removed?
The data is FMCSA’s public record for every USDOT number, so we show it for every carrier in the census. If something we display does not match FMCSA, contact us and we will check it.
